The artists
It started on a street corner in 1987.
Krandel Lee Newton was an engineer before he was an artist. In 1987 he set up in Dallas's Historic West End and started sketching passers-by from behind, fully clothed, in charcoal, in about three minutes each.
The Washington Post later called him the "Father of Posterior Impressionism." He took the act to Jimmy Kimmel Live and CNN, to conventions and campuses, and to weddings and galas around the world, and he trained a team of artists to keep up with the bookings.
The rule has never changed: we never make a joke of any guest.
